Abby and Paul’s All Vol Wedding at the Lighthouse in Knoxville, Tennessee

If you know me, you probably know how I feel about football—definitely not one of my favorite things. To me, the only good thing about it is having fun new commercials come out during the super bowl. However, I do love weddings, and a football themed wedding—how unique and fun!! I was thrilled when I saw the way Abby and Paul brought the football / UT Vol theme into their wedding. It was adorable! I think my favorite detail was the aisle runner. You’ll see what I mean. 🙂

We first met at a party in some student housing apartments at ETSU in Johnson City. We kept in touch over Facebook until the Fall Semester when we found out we had a class together and started sitting together. The rest is “history”.

How long have you been together? Five years, eight months, and one day.

My assistants, Jennifer and Nelya, got some great shots of these adorable guys.

Our first date… Abby came over to my house, we watched some TV or a movie and went to Red Lobster, but by the time we got there they were closed. So, instead we went across the street to Taco Bell. As it turned out Taco Bell is Abby’s favorite restaurant, no seriously it is. We still have a hot sauce packet that says “Will You Marry Me?” that I saved as a memento.

See what I mean about the aisle runner?? Touchdown! Married!! And look at sweet Paul trying not to cry. 🙂

How did he propose? We were on the annual “Fletcher Family Vacation” to the Outer Banks. We went to a romantic dinner alone one night and afterwards we went for a walk on the beach at sunset. He proposed on the beach during our walk.

What do the two of you like to do together for fun?

Cook and eat!! UT Football games of course. Talk about Harry Potter. Kitchen Parties.

What is the thing you love most about the other person? Paul – Abby always laughs at my jokes (even when they are bad), eats the food I cook, listens to my music, plays video games with me, and loves football as much as I do. Abby – His sense of humor, his laugh, and his cooking abilities.

What was your favorite thing about your wedding day? Abby – All the surprises and getting to become Mrs. Nicely. Paul – All my family and friends joining us from around the country. The joining of the Nicely and Fletcher families. Having a brother and sisters for the first time. Being an uncle. Our autographed football from UT Football Coach Butch Jones, and the food.

Almost all decorations were DIY done by my mom, Stephanie Fletcher, and Melinda Waddell. They did a fantastic job, we would do it everyday for the rest of our lives if we could.

What did you do for your honeymoon? We got a huge cabin with some of the Fletcher Posse right after the wedding, and then got a suite overlooking the stream on the strip in Gatlinburg. We are also going to Las Vegas in November (for the food)!

Thank you to all the people who had a hand in making June 29th, 2013 the greatest day of our lives. It was so great to have all our family and friends together at one place for such a great celebration. We love you all so much! – Paul and Abby
