Get ready for a photo overload! Candace and Rob are my favorite type of couple–a little offbeat, fun, sweet, and totally in love. They have a band called The Rock Candies, and I got to hear a bit of their music at the beginning of our session at Ijams Nature Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. Love it!!
Rob and I met in upstate New York at a songwriting event almost 2 years ago, and after a first date where we swapped songs for 8 hours, we were both sold haha.
I talked about my dream of owning a therapeutic riding farm with lots of animals and nature trails, and he talked about his dream of converting an old barn into a recording studio.
We moved down to Knoxville a year ago after I finished grad school in speech pathology and found a job down here. Rob has been able to find work teaching and playing guitar around town, so Knoxville has turned out to be a great fit for us!
We’ve really come to think of Knoxville as our home, so we can’t wait for our friends and family to come down and experience the area.
I have to say Rob’s proposal was so thoughtful!
He coordinated with my family while they were in Asheville and I met up with them for the weekend.
I opened the hotel room in the evening and there was Rob in a suit holding wildflowers and a vintage ring.
My favorite part was that he got all my friends to send in videos saying hi and congratulations, which I have absolutely loved watching, since we were too far to be able to tell any of them in person.
Our main hobbies are music and talking for our cat and dog in weird voices…
