A little over a year ago, I was commissioned to photograph Katie and Joe’s wedding at Sampson’s Hollow in Walland, Tennessee. It was sweet, beautiful, and very moving. I really enjoyed spending time with the couple, and I think their story is very touching. Before I met them, she had been involved in a car wreck while riding in the back of a cab. It left her with a few scars and some issues, but it didn’t diminish her beauty or her personality one bit. She is so upbeat and happy that it makes you want to smile just being around her… and maybe part of that is because she has found her life partner–Joe. As you might be able to tell from what he is wearing in the photos below, he is in the Coast Guard. Don’t you just love a man in uniform!? You can tell from the way they look at each other that they are deeply in love.

A few months ago, I got a text from Katie, “Started looking at photographers out here and Joe said, ‘Contact Chastidyi.'” We got everything settled, and in August, I was on my way to New York for the vow renewal. Benner’s Farm was adorable. They had all sorts of animals, a beautiful old barn, and a neat old truck.
It was just as moving seeing them reciting their vows for the second time.
If you live in the Tennessee area, you may be seeing more of them eventually. Katie is a country girl at heart, and they want to move to Tennessee.
