On a beautiful day in October, Lyndsey and David said their “I do’s” at Ijams Nature Center in Knoxville, Tennessee. This couple had so many adorable details at their wedding. I loved all of the fun, vintagey sweetness! They met up for a pre-ceremony first look, and the sash on his face made me think of the Dread Pirate Roberts. (For those of you who don’t recognize the name—you must watch The Princess Bride!)
We met through church and college.
We’ve been together pretty much for two years. We started dating new years of 2011.
What was your first date like? Trendy coffee shop in nashville and then the second time we dated, he took me on a sunset hike.
How did he propose? He proposed on easter a year after we had broken up. He crafted a ring box into the shape of a book out of wood., and he asked me on his front porch.
Do you have a song? No song really – our first dance was a combo of Sea of Love by Cat Power and Take My Breath Away.
Why did you choose your wedding date? We wanted an outdoor wedding and we love Ijams. I love the idea of choosing a local place here in Knoxville that does a lot of community outreach type things.
Any particular reason for the theme/venue/etc.? We love vintage theme so it was fun to mix a bit of outdoor Knoxville with an older style.
Look at these amazing flowers by Melissa Timm Designs!
What do the two of you like to do together for fun? We spend a good bit of time outdoors, and we drink craft beer a lot. We love concerts and traveling.
What is the thing you love most about him? He is the kindest person i’ve ever known, always looking to see what he can do for people around him. He is also hilarious.
One of the best wedding kisses I’ve seen!
What was your favorite thing about your wedding day? Honestly, probably either walking down the aisle and seeing him and all of our friends and family who came or dancing and hanging out with our favorite people and each other.
I love the distant shot my assistant, Nelya, was able to capture while I was a bit more up close and personal.
A lot of the decor was DIY; my mom and sister made the take aways of the wood circles with our initials on them. I’d do it again.
Did you do anything special for your honeymoon? We went to Nova Scotia and it was incredible!
So… interesting tidbit. Apparently the bride, groom, and all of their friends and family are professional dancers. It was like being on the set of a musical! (So, maybe they weren’t really “professional,” but they were amazing!
