I do love a barn wedding, and this one is certainly no exception! I always get excited to work at The Barn at Chestnut Springs–there are so many possibilities there, and Melanie, the proprietor, is always so helpful. 🙂
How did the two of you meet? We just knew of each other for a long time, we come from a small town where everybody knows everybody and started talking and hanging out and realized we really enjoyed each others company 🙂
How long have you been together? Almost 6 years
How did he propose? We were staying the evening at Jason’s grandparents cabin and were just getting set to play cards. Jason went to the garage for some “firewood” and came back with our dog, (a St Bernard) and she had her barrel around her neck with a ring and a note attached asking me to marry him. 🙂
Any particular reason for the theme/venue/etc.? I love the barn wedding look, so it wasn’t a bad thing to have to reschedule it and find this amazing location, it was absolutely beautiful and so perfect for us.
What do the two of you like to do together for fun? We enjoy being outdoors, hunting, fishing, snowshoeing, boating. Both of us love to travel and have a list of places to visit 🙂 We have an old 1979 Jeep that Jason and my dad restored together and we love cruising in that on warm summer days. Football Sundays are a big deal for us 🙂 enjoy spending time with family and friends.
I love what a good heart Jason has, he’s truly a genuine great person who I am so lucky to have in my life
What was your favorite thing about your wedding day? I loved everything about the day, it went so smoothly and I loved seeing everyone enjoy themselves, that really made me happy to see our family just have a great time together.
Did you have any DIY projects? Our card ‘box” was a hollowed out log that Jason and Morgan’s father found while bird hunting on the Tahquamenon River, it looked pretty shabby at first but with some jazzing up it truly was perfect and beautiful.
Brothers just have to give their sisters a hard time, even on a wedding day, right? 🙂
