I am SO excited to finally share this engagement session with you! Shelby and Patrick are such a fun couple, and I can’t wait for their wedding. 🙂 We chose Norwood Elementary School as their session location because they met here.
How did the two of you meet? Patrick worked with my mom and my mom fell in love with him! Every day she would come home from work and talk about Patrick and how great he was. She finally convinced me to go to work with her and I met him that day.
How long have you been together? We have been together for a yr and 4 months – since fourth of july!
What was your first date like? We walked along the marina in Oak Ridge and talked for hours! He sang “I don’t want this night to end” by Luke Bryan and we slow danced under the stars while he sang to me.
How did he propose? Well the day before he went and bought me stuff for a nice bath. He also bought me a dress and scarf from “Tommy Hilfigher”. The next day started off with breakfast in bed. He also had planned with my sister a surprise for me scheduled at 12 o’clock I had no clue what they had planned.
So I threw on my new dress and my sister came and picked me up. First my sister bought me lunch at Cracker Barrel. After that we went to my surprise! Next stop she took me to “The Nail Bar”!!! He made us both prepaid reservations at “The Nail Bar”! Once we were done she dropped me off back at our house. Patrick then got me ready for the next part of our day.
He blindfolded me and we drove for what seemed like forever! When we finally stopped he helped me out of the car but still wouldn’t let me see where we were. All I knew was there were people around.
He walked me around for a minute and then we stopped. He sat me down and told me I could open my eyes. I opened my eyes to see the exact spot that we fell in love!
It was amazing! the river was up and running fast! It was such a thoughtful thing! after we looked around for a minute, he pulled out his phone and saw a text from my sister so he handed me the phone.
I opened the text to see a picture of Patrick holding a sign saying “will you marry me?” when I turned to look at him he was on one knee with My ring ready for me! He asked me again! Out of such excitement I went to hug him and knocked the ring right out of his hands! After that we walked around the dam for a little bit then we piled into the car and made our way to my final surprise!
I had to close my eyes the whole way. When I was allowed to open my eyes again I was at my parents house! He planned a surprise engagement party for me with my parents with all our family and friends to congratulate us! It was for sure the best day of my life up to that moment
