Legend was one of my favorite fairytale movies growing up — unicorns, faeries, true love, an epic hero, great makings for a story, right? And… let’s not forget about the amazing music by Tangerine Dream (the director’s cut with the other music was so bleh). My cousin, Andy, introduced me to the movie when I was around 10, and we watched it every single day over the course of one summer.
One of the quotes from the movie is particularly appropriate for a photographer, “What is light without dark?” For any piece of art (including a photo) the light and dark are what make the image –literally– aka chiaroscuro. Otherwise, you have a blob of nothing. So, here is my tribute to epic love, light, dark, and beauty.
