Super-Fun Couple Session, My Little Pony, and Books! What More Could a Girl Want?

So, I met these two during the time that the government had closed the parks which meant we were unable to go to the spot we had initially intended. However, they rolled with it, and we went to a little spot in Wear’s Valley where I met two of the most fun clients ever! I think if we lived closer that I would have Tiffany on speed dial.

How did the two of you meet? Honestly? LiveJournal, 2007-8 or so. We were part of a group called the “Existential Flame War.” I don’t want to take the time to explain it in text other than to say that it boils internet arguments and posts down into their essential elements for the sake of a LOL.

How long have you been together? Two years now, despite knowing each other so long.

What was your first date like? It’s really hard to determine what our “first date” is, since we were pretty much internet-only at first. For a while, we would watch My Little Pony on Saturday mornings, then play Portal 2 together for a little while. Other mornings and afternoons, we would watch MIT computer science lectures. Because we are those people.

Do you have a song? If so, what? We just decided that it would be “Air” by Bach. Because.

What do the two of you like to do together for fun? Watch select TV shows together (pretty much nightly – thank you, Netflix!), hate sports, play games, read books, watch movies – ours is a unique challenge in that we don’t get to see each other every day like a lot of people, so we find ways to sync up our activities. iPhone games and FaceTime are blessings. When we do get together for the weekend, we like to cook and wander around whatever city we’re in at the time.

What is the thing you love most about the other person? He, about me: She’s adorable and sweet and funny and tries to cheer me up when I’m having a bad day, like when I have problems or just need someone to talk to. The best part is that she tries to understand the things I talk about and doesn’t just outright dismiss them.

Me, about he: He has been there for me at my darkest times and is always willing to listen and to try to understand me. He is constantly trying to improve things for the life we hope to spend together. He plans for a life with me in it, and not just for himself. I’m lucky to have that, because I haven’t always. He thinks I hung the moon. He cooks. Thank god. He’s better than balsamic vinegar. (Inside joke.) When he smiles a real smile (not that “there’s a camera in my face and I should look pleased” face), he’s the most handsome man in the room to me. He accepts me 100%. Not 99%. 100%. I can genuinely see making him my family for the rest of my life. We may not be ready for that step yet, but when we are, I’m diving head-first. Oh, and the kisses. Those lips sealed the deal.

Is there anything else you’d like to share? I’d like to confirm to anyone who didn’t figure it out yet that we’re huge nerds. Also, we do hope to make it back to the area to work with you again. You were a ton of fun. Maybe when we’re engaged!
